Halifax West High closed after COVID case connected to school - HalifaxToday.ca

Halifax West High School has been closed after a COVID-19 case was connected to the school.

Nova Scotia's Department of Education says that the school will remain closed until June 11th to allow for a deep cleaning, and to allow public health to test close contacts.

Students at Halifax West will begin at home learning Wednesday.

Out of an abundance of caution, public health is recommending that all students and staff be tested for COVID-19, whether they have symptoms. no self-isolation is required while they wait for test results, unless they have been identified as a close contact by public health or have symptoms.

The department says that parents and students at Halifax West will receive and update on the situation before June 10th.

This is the 3rd school in HRM to be closed since students went back to class last week.

Graham Creighton Junior High in Dartmouth and the Bedford and Forsyth Education Centre's Dartmouth campus were both closed earlier this week after two COVID-19 cases were connected to the schools.

Adblock test (Why?)
