Service restored for Telus customers in Alberta and B.C. experiencing outages - Edmonton Journal

Telus service teams have restored telephone and cellphone communications to customers in Alberta and B.C.

In a Thursday Tweet, Telus said they were investigating reports of a service disruption causing outages impacting wireless customers in Alberta and B.C. around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

“Our team is working to restore service ASAP. Thanks for your patience!”

An emergency alert was issued around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday saying an incident had affected telephone and cellphone communications for all of Alberta, including wireless voice and data services.

“This outage is impacting Alberta and British Columbia. At this time, 911 calling is not affected.”

The emergency alert was ended at 1:47 p.m., on Thursday.

Telus support confirmed that service was restored to customers in Alberta and B.C around 2 p.m., in a Thursday Tweet.
