Province's Unemployment Rate Nears 14 Per Cent - VOCM

Newfoundland and Labrador’s unemployment rate is a sliver away from 14 per cent after a big jump last month. It stood at 13.1 per cent in September but was 13.9 in October.

Statistics Canada says nationally the rate stood at 6.7 per cent in October, down from 6.9 as the country added 31,000 jobs.

Newfoundland and Labrador is the only province to have unemployment in the double digits.
